The Horns of Canzo – Pt. 1
Walkthrough – Snake (Hard) and Ghost (Expert) Difficulty
Notes:Lonzo's Saloon
You begin near a sign pointing the way to the Village and the Woods. The easiest and most urgent objective is to go to the shop and buy something. You have almost no equipment, so do this as soon as you have enough loot - you will certainly need your sword later!
Head east to Lonzo's Saloon, pick the "Drunk Guard's Key" from the guard outside the door then go in. Behind the bar you can pick up a purple goblet (25), a gold coinstack (+ 25 = 50), a gold vase (+ 100 = 150), 2 large plates (+ [50 x 2] = 250) and 3 small plates (+ [3 x 25] = 325). One of the men sitting at the tables has a purse (+ 100 = 425), and there are 2 gold coinstacks (+ [25 x 2] = 475) sitting on the table beside him. The man standing in front of the fire also has a purse (+ 100 = 575) and on the mantelpiece there's a purple goblet (+ 25 = 600). There is a Treebeast mask (+ 50 = 650) on the chimney breast and the lady in the blue dress is wearing a healing potion.
Take the gold goblet (+ 25 = 675) from the table by the ladies then go through the curtain on the south wall into the alcove with the bathroom doors. Open the Ladies' (Ooops - it's occupied!) and snatch the purse (+ 100 = 775) on the floor. You can pick a silver key from the Innkeeper while you're in here, though it's not of much use. It only unlocks the Men's room and there's nothing in there but flies! The deer leg on the bar may come in useful later.
Back out in the main room, go down the stairs to the wine cellar and look in between the barrels on the shelf on the left for a tiny box. Pick it open and inside you'll find "The Water Key" and a scroll that suggests a visit to Book Archive room #1543. When you pick up the key, you receive objectives to find all 4 elemental keys and the book about the 4 Elements. That's it for the Saloon, so leave and go back to the start point.
Follow the path along the river. If you would like some extra loot that is difficult to get, stop at the top of the ladder and look down across the river. See the boat? In the cave behind it is a gold nugget.
The easiest way to get to the cave is to walk north along the path above the river to the far end just before you cross the bridge, then take a running jump into the water. Aim as far out as possible so you get right over by the far wall. As the current carries you along, you can mantle out by the boat fairly easily. Go through the reeds and collect the nugget (+ 75 = 850).
Getting back is harder. A speed potion helps, but you don't need one. Try making a mighty leap to the left (north) of the amethyst rock near the bottom of the rope. If you mantle as soon as you touch the water, then with any luck you can pull yourself up onto the rock. From there you can jump to the rope quite easily.
The Weapons Shop
You have enough loot now to get yourself some equipment. Walk north then turn left at the corner. Turn left into the courtyard outside the Weapons Shop and go in.
Pick the flare from the Shopkeeper's waist and underneath you'll see he's carrying the "Backdoor Key". Use it to unlock the back door and go in. Push the button under the shelf on the right then go back to the shop and look at the mat inside the front door. It's moved aside and below, there's a red key. Take it and go back into the back room.
There are 3 gold coinstacks, (+ [3 x 25] = 925) sitting on the shelf beside another copy of the "Backdoor key". Use the red key to unlock the chest here. Inside you'll find some moss arrows.
Return to the shop and behind the "Ice Bomb" displayed on one wall you can pick up a blue key. Go around to the front of the special display case in the center of the shop and look near the bottom for a small door with a lockbox beside it. Use the blue key to unlock the door and behind it you'll find flares, two rope arrows and moss arrows. There are also . Now it's time to buy some equipment. Buy the sword first (cost 250g). (To buy an item, just highlight the item itself and click. It will appear in the box with the coloured cloud in the middle and you can take it from there.) In your purchases you should include your blackjack (cost 75g), and you will definitely need at least one rope arrow (cost 200g).
Leave the shop, turn left and go back to the main path. Take the path opposite, heading north. When you've walked a ways, you'll see a large tree trunk lying above the path on the left. Rope up to it, jump onto the ground beside the trunk and climb the slope to the top. There's a frogbeast egg here as well as a gold nugget (+75 = 1000). Jump back down to the path and don't forget to get your rope arrow back.
Keep an eye out for some guards that patrol this path. One of them is wearing a purse (+100 = 1100) and you can help yourself to a broadhead from the archer's quiver. Continue along the pathway to a building on the right behind a locked gate and stone wall. Climb over the wall, drop down into the yard and open a small hatch in the building. Inside, climb the ladder and use the "drunken guard's key" to unlock the chest at the top, which contains 2 ice bombs. Head back down to the main path and turn left (E).
The Boarded-up House
Go into the red-lit alcove to the east of the waterfall. Look above your head on the east side and you'll see an old stump. Sink a rope arrow into it and climb up. Be very, very careful up here because there's a rather nasty fellow hanging around. Once you've dealt with him, pick up a silver nugget (+ 25 = 1125) hidden in the corner where he was standing. He has been shooting at a rat, so you can pick up the broadheads that are stuck in the ground.Smash the boards across the north opening, jump down and follow the path to a window. Open it to get Secret #1, then enter the building.
There's some flare mixture on the table, though I don't think there's any use for it, and a water arrow under the table. Go through the door, climb a ladder, open the hatch at the top and you'll be in a room with some boxes and a window. Smash the glass, use the boxes to get out through the window, cross the rooftop and enter the next building through the window. Drop down through the hole in the floor and check the floor in the SE corner for 3 coins (+ [3 x 25] = 1200). Go through to the room with a ladder, pick up a coin in the NW corner (+ 25 =1225) and then climb the ladder. Go into a small office with a broken chair. Look under the chair for a red key then read the note in the letter tray and pick up "a little shiny key" from the desk.
Climb back down the ladder and look for a tiny lever on the base of the post nearby. Flip it to get Secret #2. A small panel in the room with the hole in the ceiling opens and you could get out into a boarded-up house. However, skip that for now and rope arrow back up through the hole in the ceiling. Go through the window, back into the first building, down to the lower floor and unlock the east door with the red key you found. Inside, go through two wood doors then climb the two ladders in the tower. Crawl out of the opening at the top and enter a hallway.
The Book Repository
Walk up the hallway and look to the left. There's a guard standing by a table that has the "Book Room #1543" key sitting on it, as well as a note to read. There are 2 doors in the hallway. The north one opens out into a courtyard at the First Alp gate. The west one takes you into another hallway - at the far end, there's a set of crossed swords on the wall. If you frob this, the mat below your feet slides away! This is a trap and you'll drop to your death, unless you use a slowfall. It's a waste of a potion, though, as you'll only end up opening a door back into the building where you were earlier, so ignore it.
Retrace your steps down the ladders and at the bottom, use the "Book Room #1543" key to unlock a metal door. Go inside, pick up the left-hand book from the shelf and read it. The objective to find the book of the 4 Magic elements will tick off. The objective to reveal the secret nature of the 4 Magic elements will tick off and you'll get new objectives to find and unlock the secrets of the 4 elemental keys
Climb the ladders again, open the courtyard door and wait for the guards to finish their conversation. They'll stand with their backs to you and you can sneak out and flip the lever to open the gate. The archer walks over to the gate when it opens which gives you a chance to dart over and pick the purse (+100 = 1325) from the other guard without being spotted and then head up the path on the right (E, inside the gate) before he returns.
You'll enter a tunnel with 2 grates on the wall on the right side. Walk out the other side and you'll see a small metal tower sitting on top of a wooden base. At the far side of the base there's a locked door and you need a key. Walk carefully on past the streetlamp, then hide in the shadows and wait for a patrolling archer. He's wearing a silver key.
Use this key to unlock the door in the tower base, lean in and flip the lever on the left then turn the wheel on the right and you'll have found Secret #3. One of the grates back in the tunnel you just came through has opened. Climb through and jump down. Crawl through a pipe, climb the ladders at the far side and go through the door at the top. Open the door on the right (W) and enter a mine tunnel. Ride the mine car or walk to the far end but take note of a blocked tunnel on the right. You'll be back here later on.
The 2nd Alp
Open the door, go in and walk across a metal floor. There's a sewer hatch to the right but it's locked and you don't have the key yet, so continue straight ahead and through the opposite door. Turn right up a hallway and there's a barracks room on your left, a bathroom straight ahead and a hallway to the right.
There are several guards in the barracks room. One of them is wearing a purse (+ 100 = 1425) and there are 3 gold coinstacks (+ [3 x 25] = 1500) sitting on the end table. You will find a scroll that contains information about the Air Lock on the floor between the table and the end bunk. There's an explosive charge in the left-hand chest and a basketball in the right-hand one. It is almost impossible to pick the right-hand chest open without waking the guards.
Look under the left side of the sink in the bathroom for a small lever. Flip it to get Secret #4. You'll hear something open in the showers. Walk to the last stall, which is out of order, and there will be a small panel open in the back. Here, you'll find a tiny gold ring (+ 100 = 1600), a gold coinstack (+ 25 = 1625) and a silver statue (+ 40 = 1665).
Return to the hallway and turn left. A door on the right about halfway up opens into a small guardroom that overlooks the courtyard. Check under the table and you'll find a tiny gold ring (+ 100 = 1765). Make sure you stay in the shadows, as there are cannons in the courtyard that will fire at you if you're spotted.
The Decontamination Chambers
At the end of the hallway, go up the stairs, read the notice on the wall, and then press the button to open the red doors. Flip the lever on the right wall to start the decontamination and then the lever on the left wall to open the far door. Go through and take the small elevator up, climb the ladder to the top of the tower and you'll find some moss arrows in a chest.
Climb back down, open the gate and take an arrow and the "Sewer Key" from the guard on the walkway.
Head back through the decontamination chamber, down the hallway and back to the metal walkway by the mine door. Unlock the sewer hatch with the "Sewer Key", climb down and start walking. Go through the hatch on the left at the end of this pipe and continue north a few paces to a hatch on the left. Walk along the pipe behind it to the end, climb the ladder on the right and then a rope to the top of a well. Climb out quietly and you'll see a building to the East - a guard patrols in and out of it.
When the way is clear, get into that building and read a book on the table then look on top of the cabinet in the SE corner for "an oxidized key". Continue through the room, out the other door, through another door and you'll see a red door on your left that leads into another decontamination room. Go through it, out the other side and take the elevator up to the tower. The guard here is wearing a purse (+100 = 1865). Head back down, through the contamination chamber, out the other side and down into the machinery room opposite.
In the corner of the room, there's a detonation arrow in a chest. Take it then go through the wooden door in the SE corner, along a hallway and through another door. Return outside and take a purse (+100 = 1965), from the guard over by the gate in the SW corner then look behind the building (SE side) for a hole in the ground. Climb down in and you'll have found Secret #5. The hole contains some food, a book and a ring (+100 = 2065).
Climb over the wall at the front (if you go down the stairs, the guard by the gate might see you) jump down to the street and walk north toward the big windmill. Keep an eye out for a couple of guards that patrol this path. They'll be wearing "Key N*102a" and "Key N*102b". (These keys are not vital to the mission.) Go into the small shed on your left just before you reach the windmill and flip a little lever on the wall behind the bucket to get Secret #6. The back wall will slide up and you can climb down a rope into a hallway.
The Sewers
Walk along the hallway, duck under the steam vent and go around the corner to another hole. There's a moss arrow sitting beside it. Pick it up, then jump down through the hole into another hallway. There's a metal door at the end with a lever on the wall to the left. This opens the door and outside is another hallway. The lever caused the wall east from this door to slide open as well. Behind it is a shortcut to the 3rd Alp Inn but it's very hard to navigate without a breath potion. Besides, you're not ready to head there just yet, so go through the hatch on the left (N) and follow the sewer tunnel to a ladder that leads up to another hatch.
Climb up, open the hatch, and you'll find yourself at the base of a small building that has a guard pacing around on top. Go around to the door on the west side, go in and climb the ladders to a wooden hatch. Open it and you'll be able to pick the "Tower key" as well as an acid arrow from the guard without him seeing you, then close the hatch and return outside. Use the "Tower Key" to unlock the door on the north side and you'll find 2 gold coinstacks (+{2 x 25] = 2115). In the chest beside the coinstacks is a scroll that contains clues to the location of the elemental locks. Now go outside and then back down into the sewers.
Walk south to the end, go left, then immediately right, walk a few paces then open the hatch on the left. Head south until you come to a ladder that takes you back up to the sewer grate near the exit from the mineshaft.
Go back into the mineshaft and walk down to the tunnel on the left that is blocked by boulders. Drop the explosive device by the boulders, go back around the corner then lean out far enough to shoot the explosive with the detonation arrow. (You can also explode it from the moving mine car.)The rocks will be blown out of the tunnel and you can enter. (If you don't have the explosive device you can bash your way through with sword or blackjack, but it takes a long time!) Partway down you'll get a message that you've found Secret #7. You'll find 3 gold nuggets (+ [3 x 75] = 2340) and 2 silver nuggets (+ [2 x 25] = 2390) lying scattered on the ground.
There's a hole at the end of the right-hand tunnel and you CAN go down it if you have a slow fall potion and get into the spider section of the mission but it is very difficult to do undetected. Instead, return to the mine and head back south. Before you climb up onto the platform, look underneath it for a gold nugget (+ 75 = 2465).
Back to the Main Path
Go back inside, climb down the ladders, go through the metal tunnel and jump up onto the platform to crawl back out through the grate you opened in Secret #3.
You're back on the path just past the first Alp gate. Turn left and sneak down to the gate area. Creep over far enough the frob the gate lever through the opening and then duck back into the shadows. The archer will go over to investigate and you can slip back in the door without being spotted. Turn left, go back through the open hatch on the left and climb down the ladders back into the wooden building.
Head through the door to the left and walk along the hallway, climb the ladder and go through the window and into the next building. Drop down through the hole and look at the north wall. There's a hatch there that you opened once before but you didn't need it then. Now you do. Walk through to the room with the ladder, find the lever again and frob it (twice if you actually opened the hatch before) then go back and crawl through the hatch into a section you've been in before. Go outside, climb over the wall and turn left (W). At the junction turn right and follow the path to a set of doors that lead into a cemetery. If you look at the graves, you'll notice one of them looks rather suspicious. You'll be back here shortly, but for now head back along the path past the saloon.
The Underwater Tunnels
After you go around the corner, there's a stream on your right. Jump in and search the south end for a statue (+ 25 = 2490). There's also a loaf of bread on the far side of the stream, by a fire. While you're over there, check the top of the flat rock nearby for a moss arrow. Above the slope with the grey rock (on the west bank just before the bridge) you will find a healing fruit.
Now walk to the middle of the bridge and look NW to locate a silver nugget (+ 25 = 2515) on a ledge on the left bank. To get it you must go west off the bridge and climb the steep slope to the north. Turn right at the top, slide down and pick the nugget up. You'll probably take a point or two of damage but if you happened to pick up the deer leg from the Inn, you will heal a bit if you eat it now. The loaf may help also.
Jump into the water and swim through the underwater hole that is right below this ledge.Turn right at the corner - partway along the passageway you'll be notified that you've found Secret #8. Once you reach the middle where the fish is swimming, go down through the hole on the right (S) and you'll come up in a round hole. There's a silver nugget (+25 = 2540) sitting above you.
When you've got your breath back return to the center and check the plants on the bottom for a gold nugget (+ 75 = 2615). Now swim through the north hole and at the end, near the grate, there's another gold nugget (+ 75 = 2690). There's no air hole here so be quick, swim back out to the center and then through the last hole.
You'll come up into a passageway and at the end, on the right, is a hole with an elemental lock mounted in it. Beside it is a doorway blocked by a blue force field. "Use" the Water key twice on the lock to shut off the force field and enter.
The Dragonfly Glade
Beware as you enter this area as there are some nasty dragonflies lurking, but you can kill them with one arrow or a blow from your sword.
Jump into the waterway, and follow it round the corner - it gets very deep just before you get to the waterfalls, so dive down to the bottom. Search for a gold key and an invisibility potion.
Climb out, walk up the ramp and look in the spray above the falls. There's a blue healing gem (+100 = 2790) floating there that you can reach from the top of the wall.
Pick open the metal door on the left. Try to stay in the dark as there's a "surprise" waiting inside. Sneak in (this might be a good place to use the invisibility potion you just found) and take the "key with a faded sign" from the rack on the wall. Use it to unlock the door in the west wall, walk down the stairs and unlock the door on the right at the bottom with the same key. (You may find it easier to dash in, grab the key and dash out again. Then walk west down to where you entered this glade and turn right. The door is facing you.)
The chest inside unlocks with the "oxidized key" that you found earlier and contains a battle-axe, a diamond (+100 = 2890) and a papyrus. You must read the scroll to cast a spell that changes events in the cemetery. Return through the underwater tunnels, and walk all the way back past the saloon and the waterfall.
The Cemetery
Now is the time to stock up on more equipment from the shop if you need it - you should have achieved the loot objective by now. You may want to get some holy water or a couple of flash bombs for the next part; a few water arrows and broadheads will be useful later.
Walk to the cemetery at the west end of the main path, and enter. The doors will close behind you and the suspicious looking grave will open. Look behind one of the headstones for 2 jars (+[2 x 25] = 2940). Jump down inside the grave, pick up some water arrows, a tiara (+75 = 3015), a scroll and a locked box. Use the "little shiny key" to unlock it and inside you'll find a letter and the Sceptre of Krall. Hide behind the tomb where the jars were and read the letter. Now read the scroll - a bunch of zombies will appear when you finish. A couple of them are wearing keys to the graveyard doors. Get one of the keys and get out.
Return to the wooden bridge and use the underwater tunnels to return to the dragonfly glade. Climb the ramp, go around the falls (watch out for a dragonfly that hovers near the far end) and through the doorway into the cave.
Visiting the Monks
You'll be facing a big grey rock. Walk just to the left (W) of it and then walk up the cave wall. When you're close, you'll see it is really criss-crossed vines. Take out your sword and start slashing them. When you've broken through them all, you'll have found Secret #9 and opened a passageway into another area.
Walk through, bear to the right (E) and you'll enter a small clearing with a passageway straight ahead, and another clearing off to your left with 3 frogbeasts in the middle. Walk into the one straight ahead (with the red sunlight shining in) and wait in the shadows for a monk to wander in from the mine tunnel to the north. Take the "pump room 5" key that he's wearing and head up the tunnel.
There's a short passageway that branches off to the left and ends in a hole. If you slide down to the bottom, you'll find a rope arrow in the bushes. You'll then need to use it to rope arrow up to the hole in the south wall (but you can retrieve the rope arrow so you add one to your inventory) and sneak past the frogbeasts back into the mine area you just left.
Past the side tunnel, follow the main tunnel to the end where there are 3 doors. There's a small chapel behind the north one with an elemental lock on the central pedestal. You don't have the key for it yet so leave that until later.
Go through the metal door to the east and into a hallway. Walk past the room on the left, through the door on the end, turn left through another door and enter a bedroom with a man sleeping on the bed. Read the book and crumpled note, pick up a breath potion from the table and look on the bed beside the man for a dark grey key.
Take it, go back into the hallway and into the room you by-passed before. Read the book on the desk, which tells you that Sir Galvano disappeared in the forest with the Fire Key and apparently was transformed into some sort of beast. Pick up the healing potion, then slash the banner that is hanging on the north wall and you'll have found Secret #10. The optional objective "Find all the secrets" checks off. Behind the banner is a safe that unlocks with the dark grey key you just found and inside, you'll find a gold torc (+300 = 3315), an ankh (+50 =3365), and 5 gold coinstacks (+ [5 x 25] = 3490).
The Earth Key
Now that you have a clue where to look for the Fire key, return to the forest through the tunnel and you'll be beside the big grey rock again. Turn hard right (W) and go through the green-lit tunnel. After you enter there will be a big rockslide behind you and the tunnel will be blocked. Don't worry about that, just continue on cautiously because there are spiders ahead! Once you've dealt with the first two spiders, climb up into the higher passageway at the end (NW) and you'll be overlooking a large cave occupied by several more spiders. You can pick them off from up here if you're a good shot. Once they're dead, search the big green one and you'll find it was carrying the "Earth Key".
If you look above the passageway that you jumped out of, you'll see the shaft that you could have come down from the mine. Below it, on the ground, there may be some broadhead arrows. Over in the NE corner of the spider cave is a silver nugget (+ 25 = 3515) and on the west wall of the cave is a "spider lock". "Use" the Earth key on it twice and a doorway will open opposite it.
Go through and you'll see a red healing gem (+ 100 = 3615) floating above a platform surrounded by lava and steam vents. A very unpleasant fiery skeleton appears when you grab it, but if you go back into the left corner (N), you'll be behind him when he shows up and he won't see you. You can dispose of the skeleton fairly easily with a few water arrows - he will leave a fire arrow behind. When you frobbed the gem, a rock on the far wall slid up. The exit behind the rock takes you back into the area where you found the frogbeasts. Head through the south passageway and keep going south until you end up back beside the big grey rock.
The Fire Key
This time, turn left (E) and climb up onto a path. The first area is populated by burricks who breathe insect clouds at you so it's best to not disturb them. Look off to the right and you'll see a shed in the distance. The shed door unlocks with the gold key you found in the water in the dragonfly glade. Inside, there's a bracelet (+ 25 = 3640) lying on the floor and inside the chest you'll find a speed potion / an invisibility potion. There's a square of wood on the floor. Smash it open and underneath you'll find one of the Elemental locks but you don't have the key yet. Wait for the burricks to settle down, then return outside.
Walk NE along the edge of this raised area, drop down into a lower section. Continue along this path. When you get to a multi-coloured pointy mushroom (which is poisonous) bear right. You'll see a lower valley with a fountain in the middle. Go down and drop the Sceptre of Krall into the fountain, leave it for a bit and then pick it up again. It's now "charged".
Climb back up the hill, walk clockwise around the big tree to the north and look for a small blue mushroom (in the blue glow before you get to the pitcher plant). Pick it and save it, as it works like a healing potion. Walk west, and just before you reach the red flower pick a small red button mushroom on the left - it will work like a speed potion when you eat it. When you reach the flower turn north, climb over a big tree trunk and walk up the hill to an opening.
Don't veer to the right because you end up in a glade where a nymph is guarding a stump. It's best to avoid this creature because if you try to hurt it, it multiplies!
What comes next can be tricky - you are advised to save often until you get to the big vine.
You'll see a suspension bridge across a chasm. Get across quickly because the center collapses! Also keep an eye out for bats as they will attack you with insect swarms. On the far side of the bridge, you'll see a lake of quicksand. Drink the speed potion you found in the shed (or eat a magic mushroom) and run or kangaroo hop to the far side. Keep looking up to keep your head above the surface as much as possible and walk up the ramp on the far side into a tunnel with a river of lava down the middle and a steam jet shooting out. Turn left, walk along the side staying up away from the lava, go around the corner and out the far end.
Look at the far end of this cave and you'll see the monster that used to be Sir Galvano. He's fire related, so use water or ice arrows or an ice bomb to destroy him. Once he's gone, go over and pick up the Fire Key.
The Air Key
Look way, way up above and you'll see a cable trolley of sorts going back and forth. That's where you need to get to now. There's a rock pillar in the NW corner (look for another small red button-capped mushroom beside it to pick). Mantle up onto the pillar and jump to the ladder on the north wall. Climb it to the ledge above and jump to the ledge to the east. Now hop over to the ledge with the white crystal on it. Climb onto the crystal and jump onto the next ledge. Mantle up to the blue ledge above, and jump to the rope that is hanging down above the ledge below.
At the top, jump to the small ledge to the north then mantle up onto the next one. Jump from it to the one with a couple of stairs set into it and climb them to the top. There's a rock walkway that extends to the far end of the cavern but it's broken in the middle so you'll have to jump the gap. Use the entire runway to get up speed - a speed potion or a magic mushroom will make the jump much easier. Jump over the burrick corpse and go to the end where you can jump onto the ladder of the trolley.
When you're on it, keep climbing a bit every once in awhile or you'll gradually slip down and fall off the bottom. At the far end of its route, you'll need to jump off on to the ladder.
If you miss and land on the lower ledges, watch out! Boulders fall and may kill you unless you're lucky enough to land in just the right place. If you do land on a lower ledge, use the climbing holds to the right of the northern ledge as though you were climbing a ladder.
Climb up to the platform with the broken walkway. There is a wooden beam facing you across the chasm. Shoot a rope arrow into the end. Above and to the right you can see another piece of wood - it's just above the left side of a small hole. If you have another rope arrow, shoot it into that piece of wood also. (If you don't have another, don't worry - the first one can be re-used.)
Now look at the ledge to the east. The Air Key is lying on the ground, so jump over and pick it up. Then do a Tarzan act with the rope(s) and climb to the small hole, which contains a flashmine and a gold nugget (+75 = 3715). Jump over to land on top of the canopy of the trolley when it goes past. Ride it until you can jump onto the west wall and clamber into the green tunnel. (If you miss the trolley and it's your lucky day, you may land on the west wall below the tunnel and stick there!)
The Teleport
Hop onto the big vine and climb down into the tunnel below. You'll see a steam jet blocking the way, so frob the wheel on the valve to turn it off. Walk past and turn left (N) at the corner, where there's a lock mechanism on the wall by the base of a ladder. Pick it and the hatch at the top will open. Climb out and you'll come up behind the 3rd Alp Inn. Climb up by the back door and walk along the north side of the building. Back in the corner you'll find some moss arrows.
Bypass the Inn door and walk south to a broken spot in the fence around a canyon. Walk down, turn right and go in to the passageway below. Climb the stairs and pick open the first door. Turn left up some more steps. Unlock the door here with the "Pump Room 5" key, go in and flip the lever on the console inside. You'll hear something open down below, so go down the first few steps, then turn left and go all the way down to a big open hatch in the floor. Climb down the ladder, go to the end of the tunnel and through a door, then down a hallway. Peek out through the door at the end - you're right back in the Monk's area! Go through the tunnel on your right when the way is clear, and follow it back into the glade and on to the big grey stone.
Turn left (E) and go back to the shed by the burrick stables. "Use" the Air Key on the elemental lock twice. Go back towards the door and you will be teleported to a magic glade where a blue healing gem is suspended above a particle fountain. Walk into the fountain, and you are slowly lifted up towards the gem. When you frob it (+100 = 3815) you fall back to earth in the glade where you picked the blue mushroom earlier.
Destroying the Portal
Sneak back to the Monks' area. On the way you will encounter a really nasty newcomer guarding the grey rock. He is very dangerous! You can freeze him with an Ice Bomb and scurry past - watch
out for the dragonflies! Head into the Chapel and, "use" the Fire Key twice on the elemental lock - a portal will appear at the far end of the room. You get a new objective to destroy the portal.
Warning - it is very dangerous (but interesting) to go through or around the portal. Save game before you try it.
Stand directly behind the lock (between the door and the pedestal), take out the Sceptre of Krall and "use" it. The portal will be destroyed and the objective will tick off. Above the altar, near the middle of the cross, you can now get a red healing gem (+100 = 3915). Leave the chapel, go through the door opposite and follow the passageway to the ladder. Climb it to the pump room. Leave this area and climb back up the hill to the Inn. Return to the back door, pick it open and enter.
The 3rd Alp Inn
In the bar, you'll find Key N*102B as well as a bottle of wine (+ 50 = 3965) and a gold plate (+ 50 = 4015). Go around the corner to the reception desk and the woman will give you the key to Room 4. (You can also pick up the key for Room #1 from the key rack.) There is a gold ring (+ 100 = 4115) in the Room #2 slot. There's a slowfall potion and a gold coinstack (+ 25 = 4140) sitting on the shelves past reception.
Upstairs in Room 1 you will find a guard wearing a breath potion. However, Room 4 is your room - let yourself in, read the scroll and the mission will end.
End of Mission
Loot: Value 4140g. Note: Although the total loot value is 4140g, you spend some of this in the shop.
